If you are currently in the process of planning to remodel your kitchen then you are probably starting to think of a remodeling plan for what changes you want to make. If you have not completed yours yet then maybe you should consider putting a dishwasher in those plans if you do not have one already. Even if all of your kitchen remodeling is planned and prepared if you want a dishwasher then you should still consider adding it to the plan that you have.
The options. For a kitchen of limited space and/or budget a slim 45cm wide model is a viable option. Depending on the size of the household and how often big meals are prepared a small dishwasher should just about cope with a family of two who entertain occasionally. If more capacity is needed your kitchen designer may specify two of these to service the needs of larger families. This configuration can also be a consideration when the standard 60cm dishwasher is not adequate as two 45cm models in essence provide you with a 90cm wide dishwasher.
Size up your options. While most conventional dishwashers are the under-counter type which are 60cm wide there are more compact options out there for those that want to save kitchen space. First off there are 45cm machines which have a capacity of around a third of a full-size dishwasher. That still amounts to around 20 pieces each of crockery and cutlery though so it's often an economical option for small families. Table-top dishwashers are also available for kitchens where space is at a real premium.
