Size up your options. While most conventional dishwashers are the under-counter type which are 60cm wide there are more compact options out there for those that want to save kitchen space. First off there are 45cm machines which have a capacity of around a third of a full-size dishwasher. That still amounts to around 20 pieces each of crockery and cutlery though so it's often an economical option for small families. Table-top dishwashers are also available for kitchens where space is at a real premium.
Counter top dishwashers are also called "portable dishwashers". If you are working in a truly minuscule kitchen being able to pack up the dishwasher and put it in a closet when not in use might be a good thing. Otherwise you will need to sacrifice some of your already reduced counter space for the dishwasher. The good news is that these counter top dishwashers cost about $250 and they usually fit four place settings which is enough for two people. So if you can find even 24 inches of counter space in your little kitchen you can still get a dishwasher.
The main kinds of dishwashers that you can find being sold on the market today include the built-in standard dishwasher compact dishwasher in-sink dishwasher drawer dishwasher and portable dishwasher. A built-in dishwasher is a standard kitchen appliance that takes up some permanent space in a kitchen and is of course built-in and it comes with drop-down doors and typically costs between two hundred and fifty dollars to sixteen hundred dollars.
